Vegan Cleanses and Detoxifying: Will Going Vegan Get Rid of the Toxins in My Body?

Detoxifying and cleansing is all the rage. Often, these diets consist of fasting (or, perhaps more aptly, staving oneself), and only drinking some sort of special liquid or juice (e.g. lemon juice, cayanne pepper, and maple syrup; juice made with charcoal). However, many people also believe that a vegan diet can be detoxifying, or similarly that a vegan “cleanse” is beneficial.
